Tony Hsieh’s book, DELIVERING HAPPINESS, sparked worldwide interest in Zappos, its origin, and company culture. For years, the business community was wanting more so we pitched the idea for Zappos to publish an essential follow-up. It was time for Zappos, itself, to tell its own story about how culture and a service-first mindset creates happy customers and passionate employees.

As a fully self-organized organization, we wanted it to be authentically told from the hearts of the employees instead of the expected “top-down” perspective. So for three solid years, we devoted our focus to conceptualize and execute this book from A to Z as we interviewed countless employees and worked with our agents, publishers, and beloved author to publish THE POWER OF WOW.

We really did not want this to feel like a traditional business book. So we hid some features throughout the book like the interior cover and end pages that all contained out-of-the-box prompts and QR codes to surprise and delight readers.

launch event


To kick-off the launch, we hosted a campus-wide party where employees could get their own copy. We also set up a display area where external visitors and culture camp guests could purchase their own copy while visiting our campus.
