#imnotabox zappos box :: nationwide

In the world of online shopping, the box is one of the most important and only guaranteed touch points with a customer. How do you turn a box into a creative and genuine customer connection? For Zappos, we developed the multi-platform #ImNotaBox campaign to inspire customers to see not just the box… but their own self and the world with a new perspective.

In the summer of 2016, we developed and launched a limited amount of special edition boxes with an entirely new concept. Not only did the Zappos box continue to bring customers the products they need and love, but the interior was decked out for the first time with a collection of snazzy templates such as a smartphone holder, a children's shoe measure, a geometric planter, and a 3D llama. Combined with the launch of a heartwarming ad and other disruptive marketing tactics–the campaign garnered positive attention across the industry and even collected some awards along the way.

fun for the whole family!


We aimed to create something both practical and fun for not just the ones placing the order, but the whole family. Plus, one of Zappos’ core values is to do more with less. So families not only were able to reuse their boxes in a range of unique ways, but they were also inspired to channel their own creativity and to literally...think outside of the box.
